Kampamba: Zambia’s win has helped me cope with Mother’s death
Chipolopolo Midfielder KELVIN KAMPAMBA says helping the Chipolopolo secure a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone has played a key role in coping with his Mother’s death.
According to the FAZ Facebook page, KAMPAMBA said scoring the goal reminded him of his mother who passed on, on the 1st of September 2024.
He said the performance in the game was motivated by what he was experiencing following her demise.
Kampamba wept while celebrating his goal against Sierra Leone.
KAMPAMBA said getting a win was important for the team in keeping hopes of qualifying for the AFCON Alive after they lost 2-nil to Ivory Coast in the first group game.
Following the victory Zambia are second in group G on three points while Ivory Coast remain in command on six points.
