A 37-member provisional squad has been summoned to commence preparations for the 2025 Morocco Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Zambia Women’s Under-17 side, tutored by Coach Carol Kanyemba, is set to commence the qualifiers journey this March.
The COSAFA Champions will face Tanzania in a two-legged tie, with the first game slated for the first week of March while the reverse fixture will be played a week later.
According to the Football Association of Zambia, opponents Tanzania advanced to the next round after a walkover against Eswatini.
Should the team beat Tanzania, they will play the third-round encounter against the winners of the combined fixtures between Congo, Benin, DR Congo, and Niger as the tie will determine qualification for the World Cup.
The summoned players are expected to undergo a one-week training camp to compete for spots in the final squad.
This year’s edition will be historical as it will be the first time that an African country will be hosting the Under-17 girls’ World Cup.
