
KCM Eyes 300,000 Tonnes Annual Production

Konkola Copper Mines –KCM- targets to produce 300,000 tonnes of #copper per annum in the next ten years.
KCM Chief Corporate Affairs Officer JOHN KUNDA says this will be a key contribution to the Government’s agenda to produce THREE million metric tonnes of Copper by 2031.
Dr. KUNDA told ZNBC news in an interview that #KCM has produced 45,000 tonnes of #Copper since resuming operations.
He said this has given a positive indicator that the firm can enhance its production once all operating units are fixed.
And Dr. KUNDA said the mine has maintained the 12,500 workers of which 6,000 are directly employed under KCM while the rest are coming from its business partners.
He further said KCM currently has 1,965 local suppliers and 506 foreign suppliers.
