Acting President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called for the speedy implementation of the Katimamulilo One Stop Border Post to enhance trade between Zambia and Namibia.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says plans to establish the One-Stop Border Post between the two countries have been under consideration for some time but have not yet been actualized.
She says the One Stop Border Post is important to enhance trade not only between Zambia and Namibia but also in the SADC region.
Mrs. NALUMANGO has also called for the development of the Walvis Bay-Lubumbashi Corridor, which will provide an alternative trade route to the Port.
She was speaking during a meeting with Namibian Secretary to the Cabinet GEORGE SIMATAA who paid a courtesy call on her at her office in Lusaka.
Mrs. NALUMANGO further called for collaboration to address human-animal conflicts under the Kavango Transfrontier Conservation Area initiative.
Meanwhile, Dr. SIMATAA revealed that plans are underway to actualize the Katimamulilo One Stop Border Post.
He said his country has made progress to establish the One Stop Border Post with Zambia.
Dr. SIMATAA also expressed gratitude to Zambia for its role in Namibia’s independence, noting that Namibia would not have achieved independence without Zambia’s support.
