Namibia Confident Ahead of WAFCON Qualifier Against Copper Queens
By Chansa Kunda
Namibia are confident they can unsettle the Copper Queens and deny them an opportunity to qualify for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
The Copper Queens will face Namibia in the final round of the 2026 WAFCON qualifier, with the winner over both legs earning a slot for the championship.
Namibia Women’s Football team Head Coach Nicholas Jacobs says they are not intimidated by the big names in the Zambian camp.
He says playing against a star-studded Copper Queens is a big boost as they are determined to cause an upset come October when the final phase of the qualifiers start.
Jacobs was speaking during the Savenda Sports Day show on ZNBC Radio 4 with ZNBC’s Matimba Nkonje.
