NATSAVE challenged to reach higher levels
By Masauso Mkwayaya
Finance and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane has tasked the new Board of NATSAVE to run the institution professionally.
Dr. Musokotwane says the Board should transform the institution and take it to higher levels of significance in the economy.
He says the bank should focus its growth in peri-urban, rural, and other underserved areas.
Dr. Musokotwane says the government expects efficiency in the bank’s operations.
He urged the NATSAVE board to ensure that the institution implements systems that will see an increase in the number of clients seeking services from the bank and a reduction in the queues of those waiting to be served.
Dr. Musokotwane said this when he unveiled the new NATSAVE Board in a statement issued to ZNBC News by the office of the Secretary to the Treasury.
The board members are Danies Chisenda, who is Interim Chairman, Mr. Fredrick Malambo as Vice Chairman, and Nchimunya Shatontola Mpabalwani as Board Member.
The other board members are Davis Sitali, Dorothy M. Mulenga, Mr. Boniface Chiwala, Gladys Chiwele, and Nzovwa Chomba as Board Members.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Mr. Chisenda said NATSAVE will prioritize the development of a strategic plan to improve banking and financial services.
