NTEs increase by K3bn between October and November

Zambia’s non-traditional exports have increased to eleven billion Kwacha in November 2024 from 8.3 billion kwacha in October 2024.
Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) Acting Statistician General, Sheila Mudenda, says tobacco and raw cane sugar were the main products driving the growth.
Ms. Mudenda says earnings in agriculture also increased to 8.5 billion Kwacha in November 2024 from 5.4 billion Kwacha in October 2024.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Ms. Mudenda said this is a 45.4 percent increase.
Ms. Mudenda also noted that copper production increased by18.9 percent in November.
Refined copper export earnings rose from over seventeen billion Kwacha in October 2024 to over 20 billion Kwacha in November 2024.
