NWP to support skills development, industrialization and diversification
North-Western Province Minister, ROBERT LIHEFU says government will support initiatives that enhance skills development, industrialisation and economic diversification.
Mr LIHEFU says such initiatives are key to promoting innovation and align with governments national development agenda to promote education, research and technology for economic growth.
He said this in a speech delivered by North-Western Province Permanent Secretary, Colonel GRANDSON KATAMBI at the groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Kalumbila district.
The Centre will foster innovation, nurture young talents and provide opportunities for discoveries that will benefit the country.
He says the proposed construction of EIZ Centre of Excellence will be a testament to the growing importance of North-Western Province in Zambia’s economic landscape.
And Engineering Institution of Zambia – EIZ President WESLEY KALUBA says the centre will serve as a training ground for the engineering professionals, equipping them with modern skills to compete at a global scale.
