OMCs Commit to Resolving Logistical Challenges Amid Fuel Stock-Outs
Oil Marketing Companies -OMCs- have committed to addressing logistical challenges, attributed to fuel stock-outs in some parts of the country.
The OMCs made the commitment in a meeting convened by the Energy Regulation Board -ERB- yesterday in Lusaka.
The meeting, which was chaired by ERB Board Chairperson, JAMES BANDA, was also attended by fuel transporters and the Ministry of Energy.
ERB Acting Manager – Public Relations, CHIBULU MUSONDA has said the parties noted that logistical challenges are the main reasons for the current erratic fuel supply.
Mr MUSONDA says the ERB Board Chairperson reiterated the regulator’s desire to see the smooth flow of fuel in all parts of the country and the OMCs were urged to constantly engage in order to avert supply disruptions.
He has added that the ERBwill to this effect undertake daily monitoring of the fuel situation.
