Standards Agency Destroys over 5,000 Non-Compliant Electrical Products
By Patricia Mapiki
The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency has destroyed more than 5,000 non-compliant electrical products, valued at over 400,000 Kwacha.
Agency Communications and Public Relations Manager, Brian Hatyoka says the products, which include cookers, cables and adaptors, were seized from some shops in Lusaka.
Mr Hatyoka has warned of stern action against entities and traders, who are illegally supplying non-compliant products on the Zambian market.
The destruction exercise is aimed at protecting consumers from unsafe electrical products, which are being sold on the market.
