“The country has enough fuel stock levels”

The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- says the country has enough fuel stock levels.
ERB Director General Elijah Sichone says a nationwide stock check reveals 30.4 million liters of diesel which sufficient to meet the country’s daily consumption of 4.2 litres.
Mr. Sichone adds that the stock check also found that the country has 10.8 million liters of petrol, against a 1.63 liters per day consumption.
Mr. Sichone was speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today.
Mr. Sichone , however, noted the distribution challenges the country faces, with 70 percent of sites selling both products, 15 sites only selling petrol, and 17 with no fuel.
Meanwhile, Mount Meru Group Zambia Managing Director DARMESH PATEL assured that the stock levels are expected to increase by the end of the month.
And Puma Energy Head of Government Relations LITIYA MATAKALA added that the policy directive led to a loss of 3,500 trucks from Zimbabwe.
