Trident FC ordered to pay K1.4m to fired coaching staff
By Chansa Kunda
Trident Football Club will pay 1.4 million Kwacha to former head coach ALBERT KACHINGA and his assistant JOSEPH MUSONDA.
This is after the club was found guilty of wrongful contract termination by the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- Player Status and Transfer Committee.
The verdict was given in a ruling in which the Footballers and Allied Workers Union of Zambia -FAWUZ- represented Coach KACHINGA.
Facts before the hearing were that KACHINGA had signed a contract on 5th October, 2023 which was due to run until 30th July 2025 but Trident terminated the contract on 11th March, 2024.
This was over alleged poor performance, and the club refused to pay the affected coaches their dues for the remainder of their contract terms.
And speaking to ZNBC Sport News, FAWUZ General Secretary JOE KAUNDA said the Union is happy with the judgment.
