Under 17 Copper Queens to do better

The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ – says the under 17 girls football team will do better in their remaining two group fixtures at the ongoing 2024 World Cup.
On Friday morning the Zambia under 17 women’s football team lost one nil to Brazil in their opening group D fixture.
FAZ Communications manager SYDNEY MUNGALA says despite their loss , the girls put up a good performance.
MUNGALA says the association is confident the girls will bounce back in their next fixture against Poland in the early hours of Monday.
He has since urged football fans to continue supporting the team.
MUNGALA was speaking to ZNBC news in an interview.
And Coach CAROL KANYEMBA says the team will target an outright win against Poland in Monday’s second group D encounter.
KANYEMBA says the team will aim for a win to brighten their chances of getting out of the group stages.
She says with the team setting bottom of the group, and Poland on one point after their draw with Japan, Monday’s game will be crucial if they are to last at the 2024 Women’s World Cup.
Speaking prior to the fixture, KANYEMBA said the team has worked on the lapses that where experienced in the game against Brazil.
And Under 17 team Doctor , Dr. LALISA NAMBEYE said all the players are fit except for Precious MWAPE who is still under observation after she was stretched off during the game.
NAMBEYE said the medical team is working round the clock to ensure that the player is fit for Monday’s encounter.
