The Football Association of Zambia –FAZ- has congratulated the under-20 boys for qualifying to the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations championship.
Association President ANDREW KAMANGA says the back-to-back qualification for the under-20 boys is a moment of pride for the association and the nation at large.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by FAZ Communication Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA.
Meanwhile, Under 20 Chipolopolo defender HAPPY NSIKU says the boys will have to be at their best on Saturday to stop free scoring South Africa in the COSAFA championship final.
NSIKU says South Africa are the current favourites because of their record at the tournament so far but can be stopped if the team coordinates adequately.
Speaking at the team’s camp in Maputo, Mozambique, NSIKU said there is need to prevent conceding of goals against a team that is in form.
Meanwhile, Goalkeeper LEVISON BANDA said his objective is to be the first to keep a clean sheet against South Africa, who have so far scored 14 goals from four matches.
And Under 20 Assistant Coach SIPHO MUMBI said the technical bench will maximize the available time before the final to consolidate the defence and implement tactics that will secure a win for Zambia.
