World Bank Commends Zambia’s Reforms and Investments
By Sharon Siame-
The World Bank says it is impressed with the reforms and investments that the Zambian Government is undertaking.
Visiting World Bank Executive Director for Africa Group 1 Constituency, Zarau Kibwe, says the Bank is also pleased with the performance of the operations that are supported by the World Bank in Zambia.
He says the reforms being implemented by the government align well with the partnership strategy between the World Bank and Zambia.
Mr. Kibwe said this when he called on Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane at his office in Lusaka today.
He said the main purpose of the visit to Zambia is to explore the main challenges that the country is facing and the opportunities that exist.
Mr. Kibwe said the Bank also wants to explore how the partnership with Zambia can be strengthened.
Dr. Musokotwane said the government appreciates the support that the World Bank has rendered to Zambia over many years, especially with the flagship project of the Kariba Dam.
He pointed out the recent support from the World Bank to help the country during the drought that was experienced last year.
