ZAFFICO to establish $30m Integrated wood processing plant

The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO) has made significant progress toward establishing an integrated wood processing plant valued at 30 million United States dollars.
ZAFFICO Board Chairman Alvert Ng’andu stated that the project is expected to produce sawn timber by the end of 2025, enhancing the industry’s product range.
Dr. Ng’andu made these remarks during the commissioning of the ZAFFICO Lusaka Corporate and Sales Office.
Meanwhile, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Chief Executive Officer Cornwell Muleya commended ZAFFICO for its commitment to sustainable forestry management and its contribution to Zambia’s economic growth.
Mr. Muleya added that, with this new development, ZAFFICO is poised to play an even more significant role in Zambia’s forestry sector.
ZAFFICO Managing Director Mundia Mundia also emphasized the company’s goal of transitioning from simply harvesting logs to delivering high-value products, such as street poles.
