Transport Minister Frank Tayali has asked Zambia Airways management to bring in a second Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Mr. Tayali says this will enable the country to meet demand arising from increased flights.
He said this when he convened a stakeholders’ meeting in Lusaka.
Mr. Tayali also affirmed the government’s support for the success of Zambia Airways.
Zambia Airways Chief Executive Officer Thomas Woldesenbet acknowledged the public concerns and pledged to address them.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Authority Director General Derrick Luembe said the Authority had carried out an inspection on the Zambia Airways aircraft after hearing public concerns.
