Zambia picks both the Girls, Boys Trophies at COSAFA U17 Championship

The Zambia Under-17 boys’ and girls’ teams have been crowned champions of the 2024 COSAFA Championship.

The two teams bagged gold after winning their respective final matches today.

In the girls’ final earlier today, the Copper Princesses were in no compromising mood, bashing Lesotho by 15 goals to NIL, to claim their second COSAFA trophy.

MERCY CHIPASULA was the standout star, netting an astonishing seven goals.

Meanwhile, the Under-17 boys’ team has successfully defended the COSAFA title after a 2-1 win over Angola in a tightly contested final this afternoon.

A brace by ABEL NYIRONGO who found the back of the net in the seventh and 90th minute was enough for IAN BAKALA’s side to cement their dominance in the regional Championship.
