Zambia to Send Largest Contingent to 2024 Region Five Youth Games

Over 200 athletes will represent the country at the rescheduled 2024 Region Five Youth Games to be held in Namibia.
This will be the largest contingent the country has ever sent to the regional games.
National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) Director, Sombwa Musunsa, says the number has increased compared to the last outing due to the inclusion of other sports and team sports.
Musunsa told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that NSCZ, in collaboration with the government, will start early preparations, with the athletes set to enter camp in April once schools are closed.
He says the camp will provide an opportunity for athletes to prepare in due time so that the country can win medals.
Musunsa says that while at the games, the aim will be for Zambia to finish in the top four bracket of the medal standings.
