The Zambia Under-17 girls’ football team has left for Tanzania, ahead of the 2025 World Cup Qualifier first leg encounter to be played this Sunday.
The team left this morning, via the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.
Speaking before departure, Coach CAROL KANYEMBA said the team targets to get nothing but a win away from home.
KANYEMBA said with both sides chasing for a place in the final phase of the qualifiers, her charges will prove to Tanzania that they want the qualification slot more.
And team Captain, MERCY CHIPASULA said the players are confident as they target to win at all costs.
The first leg will be played on Sunday, March 9, in Dar es Salaam before the reverse fixture on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on the Copperbelt.
The winner over two legs will advance to the final round of qualifiers, where they will face either Benin or DR Congo for a spot at the global tournament set for 17 October – 8 November in Morocco.
