Zambian Economy has Showed Resilience Despite Recurrent Shocks-IMF

International Monetary Fund -IMF- Managing Director,KRISTALINA GEORGIEVA says the Zambian economy has showed resilience despite recurrent shocks.

Ms GEORGIEVA has said this after meeting Finance Minister, SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE at her office in Washington, USA, where they discussed how advancing reforms can bring tangible benefits for the Zambian people.

She says the meeting was very productive.

And Dr MUSOKOTWANE says Zambia affirmed the country’s commitment to economic transformation, debt-sustainability and the well-being of the people of Zambia.

He says government also took the opportunity to express its expectation of better food security and good incomes for farmers, due to the anticipated bumper harvest.
