Zambian Six-year-old scoops African Junior Golf Championship

Six-year-old MICHELLE SIMUKAMA has scooped the African Junior Golf Championship Under-7 title held in South Africa.
The Zambian Junior golfer has since qualified to six major Golf championships among them the Asia Junior Masters to be held in Thailand and Junior World Championships to be staged in the United States of America.
MICHELLE, who has only been playing golf for one year, was among various children from across Africa that convened in Durban, South Africa, for the kids Africa Golf Challenge that was contested in various categories.
And speaking to ZNBC Sports News, MICHELLE said she is happy to have won a major tournament.
Her mother, RUTH SIMUKAMA said it is gratifying to see all her investments paying off, and has called on parents to take interest and support their children.
And Coach DINGAAN CHIRWA said MICHELLE’s triumph is a huge milestone as the golfer will become a role model to many children in Zambia.
Lusaka Golf Club Tournament Director RICHARD PHIRI said the club is elated that one of their junior golfers is an African champion.
