ZESCO held to a goalless draw
By Robert Mwanza
Zesco United, nine-time MTN Super League champions, were held to a goalless draw by Napsa Stars at home this afternoon. The underwhelming match, part of the 18th round of fixtures, saw few scoring opportunities.
This draw comes on the heels of another disappointing result for Zesco United, who allowed Athletico Lusaka to equalize at the last minute in their previous match.
Despite back-to-back draws, Zesco United will enter the new year atop the league table with 32 points, two points clear of second-placed Nkana.
In other matches, Athletico Lusaka defeated Forest Rangers 3-0, while Lumwana and Nkana played to a 1-1 draw in Northwestern Province. Mutondo Stars suffered a 1-0 loss to visiting Nkwazi, and Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows ended in a goalless draw in the Military derby.
At Sunset Stadium in Lusaka, Zanaco’s relegation woes continued with a 3-2 loss to visiting Indeni.
