“ZIMIS will Not Affect Mining and Non-mining Right Holders”

The Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development has assured that all mining and non-mining right holders will not be affected by the transition to Zambia Integrated Mining Information System -ZIMIS-.

And Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Principal Public Relations Officer SHAMWINDA TEMBO says all existing licenses under the previous Trimble Land Folio System will remain active.

Mr TEMBO however says since the launch of the ZIMIS, the system has encountered some technical challenges that have temporarily affected service delivery standards.

He says the ministry has since established a troubleshooting team to help resolve the technical challenges.

In a statement released to ZNBC News, Mr TEMBO said the team which comprises both system users and clients is working diligently to ensure the system operates effectively.
