The ZNBC Library is home to a vast collection of audiovisual materials that capture Zambia’s rich history and cultural heritage. This unique collection spans key historical periods — from the colonial era and the struggles for independence, to the post-independence years, including Zambia’s central role in the liberation movements of Southern Africa. Its mandate focuses on providing access to relevant information and media resources for both internal (ZNBC Staff) and external users (researchers, students, media partners etc.)

• Audio Archives: This collection dates back to the 1960s and documents Zambia’s social, cultural, political, economic, and religious heritage. It is primarily made up of vinyl records, reel-to-reel tapes, and cassette tapes
• Video Archives: This section holds a wide range of analogue content dating back to the 1980s. These archives hold video recordings of some of Zambia’s most significant moments and figures.
• Video Library: Fully digital, the video library handles current broadcast and production content, providing access to material for daily programming and operational needs.
• Audio Library: While not yet fully digitized, the audio library also handles current content alongside its older collections, serving as a bridge between past and present.

• Support for Production and Broadcasts;
• Preserve audio and video content;
• Provide research and reference services;
• Access to selected audiovisual archived content;
• Responsible for receiving music both audios and videos from local artists, record labels, promoters, music distributors;
