President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has urged Church leaders to lead by example and refrain from promoting unconventional means of resolving misunderstandings.
President HICHILEMA says elders in the Church should never advocate violence or street confrontations, but should instead champion dialogue as the primary tool for resolving disputes.

Speaking during the Evangelical Church in Zambia –ECZ- Matero Congregation Diamond Jubilee, the President said leaders must model the right conduct and ensure that children are not exposed to negative behaviour by those they look up to.
He called on the Church to raise children grounded in Christian values, saying this would help build a citizenry that respects others and behaves responsibly.
The President added that such values would also help curb the misuse of social media.
President HICHILEMA emphasised that he will not allow the country to slide back to the days when violence characterised public spaces such as markets and bus stops.

He further announced that he will be holding a Press Conference on Tuesday, where he will, among other issues, address the resurfacing of violence in the country.
The President also thanked the Church for promoting hard work and integrity, and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to progressive policies, including free education.
