President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has commended the Under-17 girls’ and boys’ teams for the job they are doing at the ongoing COSAFA tournament in South Africa.
President HICHILEMA is happy with yesterday’s 10-nil scoreline by the girls in their match against Mauritius.
The president has wished both the girls and boys the best as the nation awaits the trophies.
This is according to his facebook page posting today.
Meanwhile, the Copper Princesses are set to take on Madagascar in tomorrow’s COSAFA U-17 Women’s Championship semifinal clash.
Speaking during a pre match interview, Copper Princesses coach CAROL KANYEMBA emphasised the importance of teamwork and strategic play.
KANYEMBA says the team needs to work together and focus on improving their scoring.
She has urged the team not to be complacent as Madagascar is a strong side.
And Team captain MERCY CHIPASULA has echoed the coach’s sentiments, urging her teammates to fix their mistakes from previous games.
Striker MASELA SEKESEKE has acknowledged the strength of Madagascar’s striking force but remains optimistic about the team’s chances.
The Copper Princesses will take to the pitch tomorrow with the hope of securing a spot in the final, while counting on the nation’s support.
