President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says construction works on the Mutanda–Kasempa Road and the Kipushi Road will begin once the rainy season ends.
President HICHILEMA says government is aware of the poor condition of the two roads and has already engaged contractors who are ready to start works after the rains subside.
Speaking when he met traditional leaders in Solwezi, President HICHILEMA said government intends to improve the road network in North-Western Province in order to support economic activity and strengthen connectivity in the region.
The President also said government will work on upgrading chiefs’ palaces in the province so that traditional leaders have suitable working and living conditions.
Meanwhile, North-Western Province Council of Chiefs Chairperson Chief MUMENA commended President HICHILEMA for what he described as effective implementation of policies in the agricultural sector.
Chief MUMENA said the country is expected to record a bumper harvest this year following the timely distribution of farming inputs during the 2025–2026 farming season.
The traditional leader also praised President HICHILEMA for maintaining peace and stability in the country.
