President HICHILEMA Launches Youth Jobs Online Platform

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has launched a digital online platform aimed at improving youth employment and connecting young people to job opportunities.

President HICHILEMA says the online portal will help bridge the gap between youths and employment by providing access to information, productive resources and networks.

He has also announced that Chief KAPIJIPANGA has offered 50 hectares of land for the construction of a public university in Solwezi, North-Western Province.

The President says government will also construct five public universities in Western, Northern, Luapula, Eastern and Southern provinces.

President HICHILEMA has urged youths to take advantage of opportunities available under his administration, including free education, skills development and other empowerment programmes.

He says government has a clear vision for young people because they are an important resource for the country.

President HICHILEMA was speaking during the 2026 Youth Day celebrations held in Solwezi under the theme “Arise and Soar”.

Earlier, Youth, Sport and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU said government will continue to introduce programmes aimed at supporting youth development.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA expressed confidence that the people of North-Western Province will continue supporting President HICHILEMA.

And North-Western Province Minister ROBERT LIHEFU said the President and his administration have made progress in empowering young people through education and skills development.

Mr. LIHEFU said 14,540 youths have been sponsored for skills training, while 9,950 have benefited from secondary school bursaries.

He added that more than 4,500 youths and women have been empowered through Constituency Development Fund –CDF- initiatives in North-Western Province.

And Youth Representative ELIZABETH NGOMA commended President HICHILEMA and his government for prioritising youth development through free education, skills development and other empowerment programmes.
