President Hakainde Hichilema says government is working on opening two mines in Muchinga Province, located in Isoka and Mpika Districts.
Speaking when he met traditional leaders from various chiefdoms in Muchinga, President Hichilema said government is committed to developing the province through new infrastructure projects.
He announced that Muchinga will soon have an airport in Nakonde, while the Zambia National Service (ZNS) is already on the ground in Mwenzo area to support development initiatives.
Meanwhile, Chieftainess Waitwika of Nakonde District has called on government to upgrade the new Nakonde Secondary School into a boarding school to enhance education in the district.
And Chief Katyetye appealed to government to quickly rehabilitate the Chinsali–Kasama road, which he said is in poor condition.
