The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has disbursed over K342 million to more than 14,000 farmers in Muchinga Province who supplied maize during the just-ended 2025 crop marketing season.
FRA Public Relations Coordinator John Chipandwe confirmed the development in an interview with ZNBC News, stating that payments to remaining farmers are ongoing through various banks. He assured those yet to be paid that the process is progressing smoothly, thanks to additional funding sourced by the government.
Mpika District Commissioner David Siame has appealed to farmers to remain patient as the payment process continues.
Meanwhile, several farmers expressed satisfaction with the payments, noting that the funds will help them prepare for the upcoming farming season.
