Energy Minister Makozo Chikote says government has moved swiftly to address the fuel supply disruptions that have been experienced in parts of the country in recent days.
Mr. Chikote says the temporary supply disruptions are purely logistical and not due to depleted national reserves.
He says as of yesterday, the country had over 57-Million litres of diesel and 40 million litres of petrol in stock.
Mr Chikote says the quantities are adequate to meet national demand as normal supply resumes.
The Minister added that both short and long-term measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence of such disruptions.
Mr. Chikote has since apologised to members of the public for the inconvenience caused and assured the nation of government’s continued commitment to ensuring a stable and reliable fuel supply across Zambia.
