Kabwe Police Detain Suspects After LUBINDA Attack

Police in Kabwe have apprehended seven male suspects, in connection with the alleged harassment of Patriotic Front –PF- faction Acting President GIVEN LUBINDA.
This follows an incident that occurred on November 19, 2025, around 12:00 hours at a named Lodge in Kabwe, where Mr. LUBINDA was allegedly harassed by a mob.
Police Public Relations Officer GODFREY CHILABI says the arrest follows an intelligence – led operation conducted by the Police on November 21, 2025.
Mr. CHILABI identified the suspects as BERNARD MBESUMA, aged 35, EDWIN MUKWAILA, aged 40, MAINZA MOONGA aged 35, and WESLEY SICHANGALA, aged 32.
Others are SHENNY MWANZA, aged 20, PASCAL PUTA, aged 20 and CHOAX BANDA aged 26, all residents of Kabwe.
In a statement to ZNBC News, he said the suspects are currently in custody awaiting formal charges.
AND Mr. CHILABI said Police in Kabwe have invited Mr. LUBINDA, the complainant, to submit a formal statement and complete the required case-complaint formalities to support the ongoing investigation.
He has described the conduct as criminal, and has cautioned would-be offenders that the Police will ensure perpetrators face the law.
