President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has consoled Livestock and Fisheries Minister PETER KAPALA following the death of his wife, CHARITY, who passed away on December 18, 2025.
The President has encouraged Mr. KAPALA to remain strong as a pillar of the family during this difficult time.
President HICHILEMA says Mr. KAPALA has taken on the responsibility of being both father and mother to the children following the loss of his wife.
He has further encouraged Mr. KAPALA to seek strength from God as he mourns the loss of his spouse.
President HICHILEMA says life and death are in the hands of God.
The President was speaking after visiting the funeral house in Lusaka’s Ibex area this afternoon.
He arrived at the funeral house at around 15:00 hours and signed the book of condolence.
Meanwhile, UPND Religious Chairperson WILLIAM NJOMBO also encouraged Mr. KAPALA and the bereaved family to place their trust in God during the period of mourning.
Several senior Government officials also visited the funeral house this afternoon.
They included Lands Minister SYLVIA MASEBO, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister ELIAS MUBANGA, and Water Development and Sanitation Minister COLLINS NZOVU.
Others present were Foreign Affairs and International Relations Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE and Green Economy and Environment Minister MIKE MPOSHA.
UPND Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA, UPND Deputy Secretary General GERTRUDE IMENDA, and Special Assistant to the President for Politics LEVY NGOMA were also present.
