The Drug Enforcement Commission –DEC- has confirmed that it has summoned Lusaka Archbishop ALICK BANDA to assist with ongoing investigations.

DEC Director General NASON BANDA confirmed the development during a press briefing held in Lusaka today.
Mr. BANDA explained that this is connected to a vehicle previously given to Archbishop BANDA by the Zambia Revenue Authority –ZRA- several years ago.
He has dismissed claims circulating on social media that the Archbishop was summoned due to political reasons, describing such reports as misleading.
Mr. BANDA said the Commission is empowered by law to summon any individual, regardless of their standing in society, adding that no one is exempt from the law.
