The Food Reserve Agency –FRA- says all farmers who supplied maize during the 2025 crop marketing season have been paid.

FRA Executive Director JUSTIN CHUUNKA says the agency disbursed more than K11 billion to settle payments owed to farmers.
Mr. CHUUNKA says the funds were released to financial institutions before January 10, 2026.
He explains that farmers receiving payments through direct bank transfers have already accessed their money.
Mr. CHUUNKA also says that some farmers are yet to receive payment as they chose over-the-counter and mobile money options, which are still being processed.
Speaking to journalists in Lusaka today, the FRA Executive Director thanked farmers for their patience and continued contribution to national food security.
