The Forum for Democracy and Development –FDD- has won the Chawama parliamentary by-election in Lusaka, which was held yesterday.
The party’s candidate, BRIGHT NUNDWE, secured 8,085 votes to defeat his closest challenger, MORGAN MUUNDA of the UPND, who polled 6,542 votes.
Speaking to journalists after the announcement of the results, Mr. NUNDWE said he would serve with humility and work to meet the needs of the people of Chawama.
Meanwhile, Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- Chairperson MWANGALA ZALOUMIS said the electoral process was conducted in a smooth and peaceful manner.
