UNDP Boosts Resettlement Services with ICT Equipment

The United Nations Development Programme –UNDP- has handed over Information and Communication Technology –ICT- equipment and furniture to the Resettlement Division.

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the equipment, which includes printers, scanners, computers and projectors, is vital in strengthening resettlement services and improving public service delivery.

Mrs. NALUMANGO says the equipment will support digital filing and document management, while also improving coordination between provincial offices and headquarters.

She was speaking in Lusaka today during the handover of ICT equipment and furniture to her office.

The Vice President said the handover demonstrates the strong partnership between the Government and UNDP, the World Food Programme -WFP, and the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency -JICA.

Meanwhile, UNDP Country Representative JAMES WAKIAGA said the support is aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the Resettlement Division.

Dr. WAKIAGA said the equipment will enhance coordination, records management, reporting and communication in support of resettlement programmes across the country.
