Pharmanova Zambia, in partnership with the International ZINC Association, has donated 50,000 packs of Kit Ya Moyo, an anti-diarrhoea treatment for children, to the Government.

The packs will be distributed to selected schools in LUSAKA and CHONGWE districts as part of efforts to improve child health outcomes.

Receiving the donation in LUSAKA on behalf of Health Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary JOMA SIMUYI said the support strengthens the school health programme.

Ms. SIMUYI said the donation reflects confidence in Government leadership and a shared commitment to long-term solutions in child healthcare.

Special Advisor to the President ROMA CHILENGI said the contribution plays an important role in advancing healthcare for children.

Meanwhile, International ZINC Association Director for Environment, Health and Sustainability ERIC VAN GENDEREN said ZAMBIA will, in February, showcase its approach to child health, with particular focus on the school-based delivery model under the Healthy Learners Programme.

Pharmanova Zambia Chief Executive Officer MOHAMMED UMAR said the company is proud that Kit Ya Moyo has evolved from a donor-supported initiative into a sustainable, locally manufactured private-sector product that continues to save lives.

In addition, Public Private Dialogue Forum Deputy Director General JACQUELINE CHISHIMBA disclosed that a Health Technical Working Group has been established to address challenges affecting healthcare delivery.

And Healthy Learners Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer IGNICIOUS BULONGO said Kit Ya Moyo is being integrated into existing school health programme routines.
