The Bank of Zambia has recorded Digital Financial Services-related fraud cases amounting to 300 million kwacha from 2020 to date.

Central Bank Deputy Governor for Operations, FRANCIS CHIPIMO, says the figures point to a rise in both the number and value of fraud cases.

Dr. CHIPIMO was speaking in Lusaka during the official opening of the Advanced Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Course.
He said the Bank of Zambia has taken a number of steps to address emerging risks, including strengthening public awareness campaigns on Digital Financial Services.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police GRAPHEL MUSAMBA said the Zambia Police Service and the Bank of Zambia have worked together to train 50 officers in advanced cyber security.
