The Board of Directors of Zambia Daily Mail Limited and Managing Director SIMATE SIMATE have mutually agreed to part ways, effective January 30, 2026.

Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA has confirmed that Mr. SIMATE’s last day in office is today, following an amicable separation between the Board and management.
Mr. KAWANA said the decision was reached by mutual consent and marks a new phase for both the institution and Mr. SIMATE.
He told ZNBC News that Mr. SIMATE played a significant role in turning around the Zambia Daily Mail, which had previously been operating at a loss.
Mr. KAWANA stated that under Mr. SIMATE’s leadership, the Zambia Daily Mail improved its performance and expanded its operations, placing the institution on a stronger footing.
He said the Ministry is pleased with the progress made and has taken the opportunity to wish Mr. SIMATE well in his future endeavours.
