Finnish Minister for Economic Affairs SAKARI PUISTO is expected to visit Zambia tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Dr. PUISTO will hold several bilateral engagements with Zambian Government officials and stakeholders in the mining sector.
During his visit, Dr. PUISTO is scheduled to meet Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly MOSES MOYO, as well as a number of Cabinet ministers, including Minister of Water Development COLLINS NZOVU.
He will be accompanied by a delegation of Finnish companies offering solutions in sustainable mining, water management and digitisation.
A partnership agreement signing ceremony between a Finnish and a Zambian company is also planned during the visit.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by the Finnish Embassy.
After engagements in Lusaka, Dr. PUISTO will travel to Solwezi in North-Western Province to visit Barrick Lumwana Mine, which recently signed a major contract with Finnish company METSO, and FQM Kansanshi Mine, whose key technology providers include Finnish firms METSO and KONECRANES.
Dr. PUISTO will later proceed to South Africa, where he is expected to attend the Mining Indaba, a major international mining industry event taking place in Cape Town.
