Zambia Hosts Ghanaian President MAHAMA

Ghanaian President JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA is in Zambia for a three-day State Visit at the invitation of President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.

President MAHAMA’s special aircraft touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 15:00 hours, where he was received by President HICHILEMA and First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA at the Presidential Pavilion.

The Ghanaian leader is accompanied by First Lady LODINA MAHAMA.

During the visit, President MAHAMA is scheduled to lay a wreath at the Presidential Burial Site at Embassy Park.

He is also expected to hold bilateral talks with President HICHILEMA at State House and witness the signing of Memoranda of Understanding in key areas of cooperation.

President MAHAMA is further scheduled to address the National Assembly and attend the Zambia–Ghana Business Forum.

A State Banquet will be hosted in his honour, and he is expected to meet members of the Ghanaian community living in Zambia.

The State Visit follows President HICHILEMA’s visit to Ghana in 2023 and comes as the two countries continue to strengthen cooperation in trade, agriculture, education and regional integration.

President MAHAMA is expected to conclude his visit and depart Zambia on Friday, February 6, 2026.
