Public Servants Get K700 Pay Increase

Government has increased monthly basic salaries for public service employees by seven hundred kwacha across the board.

The adjustment follows the conclusion of negotiations on improved salaries and conditions of service for public service workers.

Government and Public Service Unions have also agreed to revise the daily meal allowance from one hundred and fifty kwacha to one hundred and seventy-five kwacha.

Other conditions of service will continue to be paid at the existing rates.

The two parties have further agreed to continue discussions on outstanding administrative matters related to conditions of service following the conclusion of the negotiations.

The agreement was jointly announced by Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Management Division LOIS MULUBE and Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia President JOY BEENE.
