Chipata Mayor, George Mwanza says the 2026 Nc’wala traditional ceremony for the Ngoni people set for this month-end is expected to attract over 500,000 visitors.
Mr. Mwanza told ZNBC News that the ceremony attracted over 250,000 visitors last year, and the number is likely to increase due to the value attached to the event.
He has explained that the increased number of visitors will also create more demand for accommodation.
Mr Mwanza said his office is working closely with the Hotel and Catering Association of Zambia, to ensure visitors are well accommodated.
