A total of 135 pupils at Hillcrest STEM School are being sponsored under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Secondary Boarding School Bursary component.
The STEM school, which draws learners from all ten provinces of Zambia, has seen an increase in the number of beneficiaries.
Livingstone District Education Board Secretary Billy Milimo said the bursary is enabling more learners to access education. He noted that while the number of beneficiaries continues to grow, the final figure will be known by the end of the first term.
Mr. Milimo expressed optimism that CDF committees across constituencies will hasten the selection process to ensure successful applicants are supported in good time. He added that with many children now back in school, the focus has shifted from quantity to quality learning.
