Judge Mwandenga Re‑Elected ACHPR Commissioner

Constitutional Court Judge Mudford Mwandenga has been re‑elected as Commissioner of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR).

Justice Mwandenga will serve a second six‑year term after securing 46 out of 48 votes. The polls were conducted on the sidelines of the 48th Executive Council of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He has held the position of ACHPR Commissioner since February 2020.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed the development in a statement issued to ZNBC News in Lusaka.
