Zambia’s men’s national badminton team has advanced to the semi‑finals of the ongoing All Africa Senior Badminton Championship after defeating Nigeria 3–1 in a quarter‑final match played in Gaborone, Botswana.
National team head coach Donald Mabo expressed delight with the performance, describing Nigeria as one of Africa’s badminton powerhouses. He said the victory is a major achievement and reflects the progress the players have made.
Team captain Chongo Mulenga described the win as historic, noting that the competition has been tough but the players have given their best to reach the semi‑final stage.
