Germany Supports Zambia’s Health Sector with €200,000 Contribution

Health Minister Elijah Muchima says the opening of the Chreso Livingstone Hospital will strengthen healthcare delivery in Southern Province.

Dr. Muchima explained that the facility will enhance HIV services and address the growing burden of non‑communicable diseases. He commended Chreso Ministries for supporting national health goals by expanding access to primary healthcare and disease screening.

His remarks were contained in a speech read on his behalf by Southern Province Permanent Secretary Dr. Namani Monze.

Speaking at the same event, German Ambassador to Zambia Soenke Siemon said his government’s contribution of 200,000 Euros towards the project reflects Germany’s commitment to improving Zambia’s health sector.

Chreso Board Chairperson Helmut Reutter noted that the new hospital will prioritize maternal and child health, paediatric care, and safe deliveries.

Meanwhile, Chreso Ministries Chief Executive Officer Dr. Frederick Chitangala called for stronger collaboration with government to maximize the impact of the facility.
