The Livingstone Museum is set to embrace the digital era with the introduction of advanced technological equipment aimed at preserving and promoting Zambia’s history.
Livingstone Museum Director, Victoria Chitungu, told ZNBC News that the museum will soon install modern digital screens to guide tourists through exhibitions, offering interactive and self-guided tours.
Ms. Chitungu explained that museums play a crucial role in enhancing the education sector. She noted that learners can acquire practical skills in hospitality management, such as tour guiding, and learn to interpret scientific activities like bird counting, while also exploring Zambia’s natural heritage.
Meanwhile, Dambwa Secondary School Headteacher, Stanford Kabwata, encouraged learners to visit the museum to better understand and appreciate the country’s historical background. He added that associating learners with industry professionals helps promote continuity, as pupils gain valuable insights from experienced practitioners.
